{တ်}/  {ပ်}

The vowel script {တ်} "tá thaq"  is pronounced [aq].   If you combine the consonant {မ} and the vowel script {တ်}, it is written as {မတ်} and read  [maq].  This  vowel script {တ်} "tá thaq" is interchangable with {ပ်}"pá thaq" which is also pronounced [aq].   If you combine the consonant {မ} and the vowel script {ပ်}, you will write {မပ်}and read it [maq].   {တ်} "tá thaq" and {ပ်} "pá thaq" are used for different meanings.
