How to do a Word Drag and Drop Quiz:

In this quiz type, you will see a series of questions in which you can use the mouse to drag syllables, words, or phrases to answer a question. The question may be an audio question or a written question. You must form the answer by dragging the words to the bottom of the screen, underneath the upper horizontal line, and above the middle line. The answer "chunks" must be arranged in the correct left-to-right order. In some cases, part of the answer might already be there, and you will need to fill in the missing parts.

Once you have formed your answer, you can press "Judge." When you do so, small letters may show up beneath your answer
parts. They provide clues about fixing your answer if it is wrong or they tell you if it was right:

a '.' or '*' means the answer chunk is correct and in the right position. All '.' or '*' means the answer is correct.
a 'D' means that this answer chunk should be Deleted (or removed) from the answer
a 'S' means that you should Substitute (or replace) another answer chunk for this one
a '><' means that 2 adjacent chunks should be switched (reverse order)
a ''I'' means that some answer chunk should be Inserted (added) here (i.e., a piece is missing)
a '^' means that more than one answer chunks should be inserted (added) here (i.e., more than one piece is missing)

These symbols are meant to provide hints about how to fix your answer. Sometimes they may seem a bit misleading. They will work best for answers that are just a little bit wrong. When there are lots of errors, these clues may seem more confusing than helpful.

You can move on to the next question at any time. There is no "see the correct answer" option. The clues should allow you to
form the correct answer eventually.

Each question may or may not have an associated audio portion. If the "Play" button is enabled, you can play the audio at any
time. There is no registration and no emailing of results for this quiz type.

Picture Drag-and-Drop: In this quiz type you will see some pictures of objects (the pictures may look like letters, especially for
some Thai, Vietnamese, or Burmese lessons). You will be asked to use the mouse to move the objects to answer a question or to follow some order (e.g., "put the book on the table," or "drag the consonant you hear into the box"). You move one of the
objects by clicking on it and then, while holding the mouse button down, moving the mouse. The object will move with the
mouse until you release the mouse button.

Once you have positioned the object(s) to your satisfaction, click on the "Judge" button.

Each object that has been correctly moved to its position will be boxed in green.
Each object that should have been moved but has been moved to a wrong position (or has not been moved at all) will
be boxed in red.
Each object that is not part of the answer but has been moved will be boxed in yellow-orange. For example, if you
were asked to move books and you moved a pencil as part of your answer, even if you moved it to a place other than
"on the table," it will be marked.

If you cannot figure out the correct arrangement of objects, you can click on "See Answer," and the objects will slowly move to
their correct positions.

You can move on to the next question at any time.

Each question may or may not have an associated audio portion. If the "Play" button is enabled, you can play the audio at any
time. There is no registration and no emailing of results for this quiz type.
