The dragon performs dramatic miracles--clambering up an elevated post and, reaching the top, cheerfully wavering its head and belching out flames. The ceremony usually ends with a trance--guardian spirits being enticed to enter the mediums.  The Dragon Parade is held to appease and pay homage to dragon--the ferocious deities that, enraged, may incite calamity to man.
