Fishermen at Nam Ngum Reservoir, Vientiane

Nam Ngum Reservoir is a huge artificial lake created as part of Laos' hydro-electric scheme.  The lake is dotted with hundreds of picturesque islands which can be explored by boat.  Visitors are also able to view the interesting process of underwater logging as divers fell trees submerged since the area was inundated.  Restaurants and boat hire at the lake make for a perfect day out.
