Sammanakkha tells Totsakan, her eldest brother, about Sita's beauty. Totsakan asks Mareet to disguise himself as a golden deer in order to attract Sita. Rama and Lakshmana follow the deer, and Totsakan, disguised as a hermit, abducts Sita. Rama kills Mareet for deceiving him.
