Kailangan natin ang Amerika !
Student 1 translation
We Need America!
Days after U.S. President George W. Bush left the Philippines; he is still the
talk amongst anti-U.S. groups. There are still people who disagree to Bush’s
ideas. There were also groups out there who were causing trouble upon the U.S.
president’s arrival to the Philippines. Some of these people, who claim that
they are the representatives of the people in the Philippines were forced to
change their beliefs or customs.
I’m not trying to mock them because in the name of democracy, they have the
right to do whatever they want. I just hope that these people are aware that
with all their protesting, they also have a responsibility to their country with
whatever the outcome may be.
It’s a good thing that there are only a few anti-Americans here. Many
Filipinos still believe in America and recognize that we still need their help.
The opinions of those protestors and those who curse America do not matter, our
economy won’t survive and the country will not improve if America does not
help us. This is the reality of life. There’s something to receive and
something to give. In our situation today, we really need the help of America.
