Railway crossing bomb seriously injures three

 

 A homemade bomb exploded near a control room at a railway crossing in

Yala's Muang district yesterday, seriously injuring two security officers

and a railway official.

 

 The bomb, placed outside the control room at a railway crossing on Siroros

road, exploded at 5.30am.

 

 Pol Cpl Sommai Khwanthong , 33, and Pol Sgt Maj Naphat Musika, 41, both of

Yala's special operation unit, suffered shrapnel wounds to the face and

body. Railway official Charan Wangchatri, 35, sustained wounds to his legs.

The three were taken to a local hospital for treatment.

 

 A bomb disposal team went to the scene and found nails, scrap metal, broken

pieces of a digital clock and battery cells.

 

 In Pattani, a retired military intelligence officer was shot in an attack

by insurgents in Nong Chik district yesterday.
