Man on bike shot three times
A mechanic was seriously injured after
being shot three times with a .357 pistol by a motorcycle pillion rider in Tak
Bai district yesterday.
Sukree Petprai, 30, was riding his
motorcycle on the Tak Bai-Narathiwat road when another motorcycle approached
from behind and its passenger opened fire from close range.
Mr Sukree's bike veered off the road and
crashed. He was being treated at Narathiwat Ratchanakharin hospital in
Narathiwat.
Police believe he was attacked by
separatist bandits, who are fond of shooting people on bikes.
Meanwhile, Snr Pol Sgt-Maj Narong Mostas,
43, of the suppression unit of Sri Sakhon police station in Narathiwat, died
yesterday at Narathiwat Ratchanakharin hospital, a few hours after he was
attacked by four Muslim insurgents.
