School security guard shot dead in Yala

 Yala _ A school security guard was shot dead last evening by a gunman on a

motorcycle in Muang district, police said.

 Pratheep Sulong, 38, a security guard of Thamma Witthaya School, was shot

three times while driving into the school compound.

 Mr Pratheep was a brother of the wife of Sapaeing Basor, 67, a key suspect

in the southern unrest. He was also a defence volunteer attached to Muang

Yala police station.
