Two men wounded, dog killed 
WAEDA-OH HARAI 
Narathiwat _ Two men were badly wounded and their dog was 
killed when gunmen shot at their motorcycle in Ban Sako, Narathiwat's Chanae 
district yesterday.
Police said Chaiyan Bamrung, 38, and Kraikan Boonsawat, 35, both from Yala's 
Bannang Sata district, made a living hunting animals in the woods near Ban Sako. 
They were riding a motorcycle in the village when gunmen fired several rounds at 
them with AK rifles and pistols.
Mr Chaiyan was hit in his arms, legs and abdomen and was in intensive care at 
Narathiwat Ratchanakharin hospital in Narathiwat's Muang district. Mr Kraikan 
was wounded in the arms and legs but was pronounced safe. The dog died at the 
scene. Police said the pair might have been mistaken as informants.
In Yala's Than To district, police found a home-made timebomb set to explode at 
1pm hidden in a tin left at a roadside shelter near a local post office. It was 
defused.
