  1. In Lesson 4, ໄດ   ̵āy Click to Listen ຊຊຊຊຊຊ was used as a helping verb. Here it is used as a main verb meaning 'to get, attain'.

For example,

   ອາຍຸເຈົ້າໄດ້ຈັກປີClick to Listen aañū càw dày càk pii How old are you?

        

  1. nȳŋ  ໜຶ່ງ Click to Listen 'one' is sometimes left out of some expressions.   (ກິນເວລາ ຊົ່ວໂມງໜຶ່ງ) kin wéeláa sūamóoŋ khǝ̄ŋClick to Listen ຊຊຊຊຊຊຊIt takes one and a half hours. 

    Note the meaning difference word order makes in the following two phrases.

  ຊົ່ວໂມງເຄີ່ງClick to Listen sūamóoŋ khǝ̄ŋ one and a half hours
  ເຄີ່ງຊົ່ວໂມງClick to Listen khǝ̄ŋ sūamóoŋ half an hour
      
  1. Although nȳŋ  ໜຶ່ງ  Click to Listen  usually follows a noun, it must come before the noun in phrases such as the following. 
  ໜຶ່ງຊົ່ວໂມງປາຍClick to Listen nȳŋ sūamóoŋ paay more than one hour
  ໜຶ່ງຊົ່ວໂມງ ສິບນາທີClick to Listen nȳŋ sūamóoŋ síp náathíi one hour and 10 minutes
  ໜຶ່ງໂມງຫ້າສິບClick to Listen nȳŋ móoŋ hâa síp 1.50 o'clock
