cardinal numbers to make ordinal numbers.

- The traditional Lao calender and
the Western calendar do not coincide. In Lao, ເດືອນຝະຫຼັ່ງ dyan
falāŋ
refers to the western calendar.

- wán ວັນ (day)
is usually used only to refer to the days of the week: wán aathīt ວັນອາທິດ (Sunday).
But sometimes, it refers to another occasion, such as wán kǝ̂ǝt ວັນເກິດ (birthday).
- tε̄ε ແຕ່ may be used with the
meaning 'only'.
