1. mỳy ມື້w  'day'  may be joined with other words to indicate a period of time or point in time.

ມື້ສົວຍw	mỳy sǔay	during the middle of the day
ມື້ແລງນີ້w	mỳy lέεŋ nìi	this evening
ມື້ວັນເສົາແລ້ວນີ້w	mỳy wán sǎw lὲεw nìi	last Saturday

It is incorrect to use  mỳy ມື້ w       with bāay ບ່າຍw     or thīaŋ ທຽ່ງw

2. cȳŋ ຈຶງw 'then, thus, therefore, so' is a connecting word between two sentences.  It often occurs in pen ñǎŋ ເປັນຫຍັງ w (why) questions and in answers to them.  It often links cause and result sentences.  Take careful note of the word order.  cȳŋ ຈຶງw follows the subject of the second sentence.  cȳŋ ຈຶງw  is sometimes left out of pen ñǎŋ ເປັນຫຍັງw questions. 

ເປັນຫຍັງເຈົ້າຈຶງບໍ່ໄປ	pen ñǎŋ càw cȳŋ bɔ̄ɔ pay
	Why didn't you go?
ຂ້ອຍບໍ່ມີເງິນ ຂ້ອຍຈຶງບໍ່ໄປ	khɔ̂y bɔ̄ɔ míi ŋǝ́n khɔ̂y cȳŋ bɔ̄ɔ pay
	I don't have money, so I didn't go.

 

3. phɔ̄ wāa ເພາະວ່າw  'because' is often used in answers to pen ñǎŋ ເປັນຫຍັງw 'why' questions. 

ຂ້ອຍບໍ່ໄປເພາະວ່າຂ້ອຍບໍ່ມີເງຶນ	khɔ̂y bɔ̄ɔ pay phɔ̄ wāa khɔ̄y bɔ̄ɔ míi ŋǝ́n
	I didn't go because I had no money.

4. lὲεw ແລ້ວw 'already' is also used as a connecting word meaning 'as a result, then, after, after that'.

ລາວໄປຢູ່ນຳ ແລ້ວເຮືອນຄັບໂພດ	láaw pay jūu námˏ lὲεw hýan khāp phòot
	He moved in, and then the house was too crowded.
