  1. In  (ໄປ ໃສ ມາ) Click to Listen /pǎy sǎy máa/ˏ máa is a secondary verb at the end of the sentence indicating that an action originated away from the speaker and is coming toward the speaker.  (As a main verb, máa means 'to come.')
          
  2. Remember that ສິ  si Click to Listen    to intend to, will, would, would like and ໄດ້ dày  Click to Listen     to get to both do not indicate tense, that is past, present, future time. In Lao, tense is understood from time words and from context. Compare the following.

For example,

  ຊື້ບໍ   Click to Listen sỳy bɔɔ Are you going to buy it?
  ຊື້ Click to Listen sỳy   Yes, I am.
  ບໍ່ ບໍ່ຊື້ Click to Listen bɔ̄ɔˏ bɔ̄ɔ sỳy  No, I am not.
  ສິຊື້ບໍ Click to Listen si sỳy  bɔɔ Would you like to buy it?
  ສິຊື້ Click to Listen si sỳy Yes, I would.
  ບໍ່ ສິບໍ່ຊື້ Click to Listen bɔ̄ɔˏ si bɔ̄ɔ sỳy No, I wouldn't
  ໄດ້ຊື້ບໍ Click to Listen dày sỳy bɔɔ Did you get to buy it?
  ໄດ້ຊື້ແລ້ວ Click to Listen dày sỳy lὲεw Yes, I did already.
  ບໍ່, ບໍ່ໄດ້ຊື້ Click to Listen bɔ̄ɔˏ bɔ̄ɔ dày sỳy No, I didn't.
  ສິໄດ້ຊື້ບໍ Click to Listen si dày sỳy bɔɔ Will you get to buy it?
  ສິໄດ້ຊື້ Click to Listen si dày sỳy Yes, I will.
