In the picture below, four contrasting tones are presented.   In the first picture "ມີເສື່ອ" a high-rising tone is followed by a high-mid tone.  In the second picture "ມີເສື້ອ" a high-rising tone is followed by a low-falling tone.  In the third picture "ມີເສືອ" a high-rising tone is followed by a low-rising tone.
