Vat (temple) Pak Khane: Northern and Eastern Facades (E.F.E.O. 1930) |
|
The name of this temple (vat) is derived from its location at the mouth of Mekong's tributary, the Nam Khane. Built in 1773 by Phagna Chanthep during the reign of King Inthasom, the present temple was rebuilt at the beginning of the XXth century. A building in the style featuring a peripheral nave with three naves and six bays, the viharn has eight irregularly spaced doors and windows. The two superposed roofs are independent from each other. |
