Vat Phan Luang: in the village of potters, on the Nam Khane river
(E.F.E.O.1930) The founding date of the monastery is unknown but the style is similar to that of the the XVIIIth and XlXth centuries. In the simple style featuring a single hail and porch, it was demolished in 1948. Two lateral galleries were added during the reconstruction which began in 1951. The interesting feature of this monastery is a strange-looking chapel in the form of a prasat sheltering some Buddha statues - two of which are in the posture Calling on the Earth as witness. This small chapel is placed on the monastery92s altar. Local information has it that they were brought from Muang Gnou near the Lao-Vietnamese border.
