1) The ka-
seems to be omitted occasionally with place, omitted most times with the
time phrase following. Sampai itself is prepositional in
function, in sentences with another main verb.
Sampai as a
"place" preposition:
Di-place A sampai (ka-)place B
= From place A up to place B
Berjalan gi sampai (ka-) Pattani.
Di-Pattani sampai ka-Yala.
Travel
up to Pattani/as far as Pattani. From Pattani to Yala.
Sampai as a "time"
