Long version

Short version
ก. ไปไหน

      ไปด้วยไหม
ก. ครับ
ข. จะซื้ออะไร
ก. ส้ม กาแฟ ชา บุหรี่ และ ไม้ขีด
   แล้วคุณล่ะ
ข. ผ้าสี่หลาเท่านั้น

Note: A more authentic way of asking someone in face-to-face conversation "Where are you going?" is simply "pay năy khráp/khá." [literally GO + WHERE +/- POLITE PARTICLE). "pay năy" is also a common greeting - like "hi" is in English - and not a true request for information. The formal pronoun "khun" [you] is dropped, as is "kamlaŋ càʔ" [to be about to do something]. In place of the pronoun or the dropped pronoun, the speaker can substitute a kin term (e.g., "phiˆi" [elder sibling], "lung" [uncle]) or someone's name (e.g., "Somrit," "John"). Both kin terms and names can be preceded by "khun" (sometimes translated as "Mr., Ms., Mrs.) to add a touch of deference, a means of displaying etiquette linguistically. The intent of adding the admittedly inauthentic "kamlaŋ càʔ" in this conversation is to contrast it with "yàak càʔ" [to want to do something] and to show that both have modal or pre-verbal status.

Long version

     ก. ที่นี่มีคนมากนะครับ
     ข. ครับ ผู้หญิง และผู้ชาย ชอบมาซื้อของที่นี่
     ก. ดู มีหลายคนที่โน่น
     ข. เขากำลังซื้ออะไรครับ
     ก. เขากำลังซื้อไก่ครับ

    2. Explain how to determine the tone of a syllable. You can use a line drawing to demonstrate your understanding.

    3. Be prepared to tell me whether or not a syllable is live or dead; if the initial consonant is High, Middle, or Low Class, and the vowel is long or short. To refresh you memory use the Flash Card Drill.  Here's the link.  https://seasite.niu.edu/thai/maanii1/flashcard/default.htm#Exercise 1A: consonant
You can also practice all of the consonants, including the less-frequent and obsolete ones at: http://www.thai-language.com/default.aspx?ref=consonants

    4. If you need to refresh your memory of the Tone Chart and the Initial Consonants, here's the Web link: tonechart
You can use the "Tone Calculator" to confirm your skill in determining the tones too.  http://www.thai-language.com/default.aspx?ref=tonecalc

NOTE:  THE FINAL WRITTEN EXAM WILL COVER MANY OF THE SAME MATERIALS AS THE ORAL.  IN OTHER WORDS, BE ABLE TO READ, UNDERSTAND AND ANSWER THE SCRIPT/TEXT OF THE ORAL PROFICIENCY EXAM.  YOU WILL ALSO NEED TO KNOW THE TONE CHART AND TO ANSWER (ITEM 3 ABOVE) IN WRITING (AND BY DRAWING A TONE CHART) THE TONE OF SAMPLE SYLLABLES.
