IV. ล่ะ
Note on the use of ล่ะ ("how about .....?) in the expression
มานะ ขยัน แปรงฟัน อย่าง ที่ ครู สอน ไหมล่ะ
In the sentence above, Mother turns to Mana and asks him, "And how about you, Mana?" with ล่ะ, the question particle usually used in follow-up questions like "And how about you?" Mother is asking two questions using the two final question particles ไหม ล่ะ :
"How about you, Mana?" "Are you diligent about brushing your teeth like Teacher Pailin teaches?"
