148. When he finished killing the demon.	๑๔๘. ครั้นเสร็จสังหารกุมภัณฑ์
Just as the sun's rays had diminished	พอตะวันรอนแรงแสงศรี
And night had fallen,	ยําคํ่าสนธยาราตรี
He was happy and flew on.	ยินดีก็เหาะเข้าไป  ฯ
	ฯ  ๒  คํา  ฯ  เชิด
149. So he saw the palace.	๑๔๙. จึ่งเหลือบแลเห็นปราสาท
Spires blazed up high.	ชัชวาลโอภาสสูงใหญ่
Five beautiful spires were to be seen.	ห้ายอดพึงพิศอําไพ
And so he descended to earth.	ก็ลงในพ่างพื้นสุธาธาร  ฯ
	ฯ  ๒  คํา  ฯ  เชิด
150. He saw a group of giant soldiers.	๑๕๐. เห็นหมู่อสุรีรี้พล
They were guarding in all directions.	สับสนตรวจตราประจําด้าน
They sat guard with fire at each gate.	นั่งยามตามไฟทุกทวาร
And so he recited a spell and transformed his body.	ก็อ่านเวทนิมิตกายา  ฯ
	ฯ  ๒  คํา  ฯ  ตระ
151. Through the power of his magic spells	๑๕๑. เดชะด้วยมนต์อันเพริศพราย
He changed his body into that of a giant.	รูปนั้นกลับกลายเป็นยักษา
When this was done he entered in disguise	เสร็จแล้วก็ปลอมเข้ามา
Into the groupn of giant soldiers.	กับหมู่โยธาอสุรี  ฯ
	ฯ  ๒  คํา  ฯ  เสมอ
152. When he came before the grounds	๑๕๒. ครั้นถึงซึ่งหน้าพลาน
Out of sight of the giant soldiers	ลับพวกทหารยักษี
He recited magic spells.	ก็อ่านพระเวทอันฤทธี
The monkey chief put them into a hypnotic sleep.	ขุนกระบี่สะกดนิทรา  ฯ
	ฯ  ๒  คํา  ฯ  ตระ
153. Then	๑๕๓. (ช้า) เมื่อนั้น
As for Totsapak the Giant	ฝ่ายทศพักตรยักษา
He was lying on a decorated dais	บรรทมเหนือแท่นอลงการ์
With the beautiful Monto,	กับมณโฑโสภาวิลาวัณย์
Together with the royal family of the giants	ทั้งหมู่อสูรประยูรวงศ์
And a group of maidservants and soldiers.	ฝูงอนงค์โยธาพลขันธ์
They were affected by the spell of Hanuman, of mighty concentration,	ต้องมนต์หนุมานชาญฉกรรจ์
And were made sleepy.	บันดาลโงกงุนซุนไป
They toppled and leaned on each other, helter skelter.	ล้มอิงพิงพาดกัยวุ่นวาย
They were unconscious.	จะรู้สึกกายก็หาไม่
Everything was quiet in the inner place.	เงียบสงัดไปทั้งวังใน
No one was conscious.	ไม่ได้สติสมประดี  ฯ
	ฯ  ๖  คํา  ฯ  กล่อม
154. Then	๑๕๔. บัดนั้น
Hanuman the Victorious	หนุมานผู้ชาญชัยศรี
When he finished hypnotizing the giants,	ครั้นเสด็จสะกดอสุรี
Changed his body back into the form of a monkey.	ก็กลายอินทรีย์เป็นวานร
He stood on the porch.	ยืนอยู่ยังพื้นชาลา
He was brave as a lion.	องอาจดั่งพระยาไกรสร
His hand held a magical diamond trident.	กรกุมตรีเพชรฤทธิรอน
He ascended the sparkling palace.	บทจรขึ้นปราสาทพรายพรรณ  ฯ
	ฯ  ๔  คํา  ฯ  เสมอ
155. He saw a giant sleeping.	๑๕๕. เห็นอสุรตนหนึ่งนอนหลับ
In his hand he held a pencil firmly.	มือจับดินสอไว้มั่น
A book and a slate	สมุดกระดานชนวนนั้น
Lay beside the sleeping devil.	วางข้างกุมภัณฑ์นิทรา
So he stood staring.	จึ่งยืรพินิจพิศดู
And he knew it was an astrologer giant.	ก็รู้ว่าเป็นโหรยักษา
He saw a second splendid castle.	เห็นปราสาทที่สองโสภา
So he opened the door and ascended.	ก็เปิดทวาราขึ้นไป  ฯ
	ฯ  ๔  คํา  ฯ  เสมอ
156. He saw a giant on a seat.	๑๕๖. เห็นอสูรตนหนึ่งบนที่
His body was big and fat.	กายาพ่วงพีเติบใหญ่
There was a shining diamond club.	มีคทาเพชรแพรวแววไว
It lay next to his dais.	วางไว้ข้างแท่นพรายพรรณ
As for the wonman who was serving him,	อันนางบําเรอรักษา
She was splendid like a heavenly nymph.	โสภาเพียงอัปสรสวรรค์
She cried out in her sleep, mumbling and gnashing her teeth.	นอนละเมอเพ้อบ่นเคี้ยวฟัน
Her body was not conscious	กายนั้นไม่เป็นสมประดี
Then he saw a third palace.	จึ่งเห็นปราสาทที่สาม
It was shining with jewels of various colors.	เรืองอร่ามด้วยแก้วสลับสี
So he ascended the giant's living quarters.	ก็ขึ้นยังนิเวศน์อสุรี
He entered a bedroom.	เข้าไปในที่ไสยา  ฯ
	ฯ  ๖  คํา  ฯ  เสมอ
157. He saw a small young giant with pleasant features.	๑๕๗. เห็นอสูรหนุ่มน้อยทรงลักษณ์
His face was pretty green, as if painted.	ดวงพักตร์เขียวขําดั่งเลขา
A young woman slept against his chest.	นางหนึ่งนอบแนบอุรา
Her face was beautiful like the moon.	พักตราดั่งดวงจันทร
They slept on a garnet dais.	หลับอยู่บนแท่นโกมิน
At the side of the bed lay arrows.	ข้างที่วางศิลปพระแสงศร
They looked as if they would have magical power.	ท่วงทีจะมีฤทธิรอน
As he looked, Hanuman stepped down.	ดูพลางบทจรลงไป  ฯ
	ฯ  ๔  คํา  ฯ  เสมอ
158. So he saw a fourth palace.	๑๕๘. จึ่งเห็นปราสาทที่สี่
It was shining like the full moon.	จํารัสศรีโชติช่วงดั่งแขไข
So he ascended the palace of victory	ก็ขึ้นยังไพชยนต์พิมานชัย
And entered a room sparkling with jewels.	เข้าในห้องแก้วแพรวพรรณ  ฯ
	ฯ  ๒  คํา  ฯ  เสมอ
159. He saw a giant sleeping.	๑๕๙. เห็นอสูรตนหนึ่งนิทรา
Twenty hands and ten faces strong.	ยี่สิบกรสิบหน้าขึงขัน
So he knew it was Lord Totsakan.	ก็รู้ว่าท้าวทศกัณฐ์
There was a woman sleeping close to him.	มีนางหนึ่งนั้นแนบนอน
She was quite lovely.	ทรงโฉมอําไพวิไลลักษณ์
Her face was pure like a heavenly nymph.	ผ่องพักตร์เพียงเทพอัปสร
His concubines were like stars.	สาวสนมดั่งดารากร
They surrounded him everywhere.	ห้อมล้อมจันทรเรียงราย
He looked, but he didn't have time to consider carefully.	ดูไปไม่ทันพินิจ
He thought it was Sita the Lovely.	คิดว่าสีดาโฉมฉาย
His anger was like fire.	กริ้วโกรธพิโรธดั่งเพลิงพราย
In his heart he wanted to kill and destroy.	ใจหมายจะฆ่าราวี
He bit his teeth and stamped his feet.	ขบฟันกระทืบบาทา
"O Sita, lovely one,	ดูดู๋สีดามารศรี
The King is sad	พระหริวงศ์ทรงโศกโศกี
As if his life were destroyed.	ดั่งหนึ่งชีวีจะบรรลัย
You shouldn't be sleeping with the giant	ควรฤามาร่วมรสรัก
Totsapak. How could you?	กับอ้ายทศพักตรก็เป็นได้
By doing this you are disloyal to the King.	ไม่ซื่อตรงต่อพระภูวไนย
Why should I let you live to weigh down the earth?	ไว้ไยให้หนักดินดอน
I will cut off your head and give it	กูจะตัดเศียรเกล้าไปถวาย
To Naray the Arrow-bearer."	องค์พระนารายณ์ทรงศร
While thinking this, he swung his magical trident.	คิดพลางแกว่งตรีฤทธิรอน
The monkey pounced.	วานรโลดโผนโจนมา  ฯ
	ฯ  ๑๒  คํา  ฯ  เชิด
160. He raised his hand to strike and kill.	๑๖๐. เงือดเงื้อจะพิฆาตฟาดลง
When he came near, he saw the face,	ครั้นเข้าใกล้องค์ก็เห็นหน้า
that it was Lady Monto,	ว่านางมณโฑกัลยา
Not Queen Sita.	มิใช่สีดาเทวี
So his anger abated,	ก็เคลื่อนคลายหายที่ความโกรธ
His anger toward the Queen.	ซึ่งพิโรธองค์พระมเหสี
He left the giant's palace.	ลงจากปราสาทอสุรี
The monkey chief went searching throughout the entire inner palace.	ขุนกระบี่เที่ยวค้นทั้งวังใน  ฯ
	ฯ  ๔  คํา  ฯ  เชิด
161. In each room of the giant's residence	๑๖๑. ทุกห้องตําหนักยักษา
He did not see any strange things.	จะเห็นประหลาดตาก็หาไม่
Fianally, he was at his wit's end.	สุดคิดจนจิตจนใจ
So he flew off to the mountain in the forest.	ก็เหาะไปอรัญบรรพต  ฯ
