| Of Totsakan, ruler of Lanka. |
ท้าวทศพักตรเจ้าลงกา |
| It was as delightful as seeing the heaven |
แสนสนุกดั่งได้เห็นสวรรค์ |
| Of the thirty-third level. |
ในชั้นแดนดาวดึงสา |
| "But one thing was remored. |
แต่ความหนึ่งเขาเล่าลือมา |
| They say the great demon |
ว่าองค์พระยาอสุรี |
| Went walking in the forest |
ไปเที่ยวประพาสพนาลัย |
| And got the great Lady Sita |
ได้นางสีดามารศรี |
| Whose figure is the delight of the world. |
ทรงโฉมประโลมโลกีย์ |
| There is no woman who compares. |
ไม่มีหญิงใดเปรียบปาน |
| I'd like to see her, |
ข้านี้จะใคร่เห็นองค์ |
| To admire her person. |
ชมรูปชมทรงส่งสถาน |
| As for the maiden Sita, |
อันนางสีดายุพาพาล |
| How can she love the giant chief? |
รักใคร่ขุนมารประการใด |
| O, great ascetic, |
องค์พระมหาสิทธา |
| Have you ever been there? |
เคยไปเคยมาฤาหาไม่ |
| Where does Totsakan |
ทศกัณฐ์ให้นางอรไท |
| Keep her, O ascetic?" |

| "Listen, skillful monkey. |
ดูก่อนกระบี่ชาญฉกรรจ์ |
| Even though I live on the island of the giant's kingdom |
ถึงกูอยู่ทวีปเมืองมาร |
| I don't make friends with the demons. |
ไม่คบพวกพาลโมหันธ์ |
| But I know this, Beautiful Sita |
แต่แจ้งว่าสีดาวิลาวัณย์ |
| Is the wife of Rama. |
นางนั้นเป็นเมียพระรามา |
| If Totsakan has stolen her and kept her |
ทศพักตรไปลักมาไว้ |
| In the garden of the giants. |
ยังในอุทยานยักษา |
| The lady is not happy. |
นางไม่ยินดีปรีดา |
| She scolds and reviles them in all sorts of ways. |
ตัดพ้อด่าว่าทุกประการ |
| You are only a monkey |
ตัวเอ็งเป็นแต่วานร |
| Wandering in the forest. |
สัญจรอยู่ในไพรสาณฑ์ |
| I'm curious beyond measure |
กูคิดสงสัยพ้นประมาณ |
| Why you ask about the lady." |
ถามหานงคราญด้วยอันใด ฯ |

| The Son of the Wind, the courteous, |
วายุบุตรผู้มีอัชฌาสัย |

| He paid his obeisance and then explained his business. |
กราบไหว้แล้วแจ้งกิจจา |
| "My name is Hanuman. |
ตัวข้านี้ชื่อหนุมาน |
| I am a soldier of Naray the Refuge. |
เป็นทหารพระนารายณ์นาถา |
| Now, His Highness |
บัดนี้พระองค์ทรงศักดา |
| Has gathered together all the monkey soldiers, |
ประชุมโยธาวานร |
| The entire city of Kishkinda, in Chompu, |
ทั้งกรุงขีดขินชมพู |
| Stationed at Kantamat Mountain. |
ตั้งอยู่คันธมาทน์สิงขร |
| When ready, he will have the troops |
พร้อมแล้วจะยกนิกร |
| Come and fight the giants. |
ตามมาราญรอนอสุรี |

ตรัสใช้ข้าบาทมาฟังข่าว |

| The great ascetic, bold in piety, |
พระมหาดาบสพรตกล้า |
| When he knew that he was a soldier of the Discus-bearer, |
แจ้งว่าทหารพระจักรา |
| When had come in search of news of the beautiful Sita, |
มาสืบข่าวสีดาวิลาวัณย์ |
| He was very happy. |
มีความแสนโสมมนัสนัก |
| "Here, Totsapak the Bewildered, |
ทีนี้ทศพักตรโมหันธ์ |
| With the evil giants, |
ทั้งพวกอสุราอาธรรม์ |
| Are to be destroyed with the arrows of the Discus-bearer." |
จะบรรลัยด้วยศรพระจักรี |
| Having thought this, he spoke eloquently. |
คิดแแล้วจึ่งกล่าวสุนทร |
| "Listen, Hanuman the monkey, |
ดูก่อนหนุมานกระบี่ศรี |
| Go with my blessing. |
ท่านจงไปเป็นสวัสดี |
| Let no harm come to you." |
