And kept her in a garden	มาไว้ในสวนอุทยาน
His love had bound him and kept a hold on his heart.	ความรักรุมรึงตรึงจิต
He felt desire to sleep with her.	คิดใคร่ร่วมรสสงสาร
The heat of his desire was like the Cataclysmic Fire.	ราดร้อนดั่งหนึ่งเพลิงกาล
The devil was tormented with physical desire, and he felt troubled.	พระยามารรัญจวนป่วนใจ
As for Lady Monto, the lovely woman,	อันนางมณโฑเยาวลักษณ์
He used to enjoy looking at her face.	เคยภิรมย์ชมพักตร์พิสมัย
And the group of concubines of the inner court,	ทั้งฝูงสุรางค์นางใน

He looked out the window.	ออกหน้าสิงหาสน์บัญชร  ฯ

173. He saw the moon shining with its aureole.	๑๗๓. แลเห็นดวงจันทร์อันทรงกลด
The clouds were gone and it was clear and shining.	หมดเมฆผ่องแผ้วประภัสสร
He thought of the loveliness of Sita.	คิดโฉมสีดาบังอร
It increased his longing and kept him trobled.	ยิ่งอาวรณ์รุมรึงฤาทัย
He yearned a lot and struggled emotionally.	แสนถวิลดิ้นโดยโหยหวน
He groaned and lamented and felt thoughts of love.	รัญจวนครวญคิดพิสมัย
It was as if he would die of a broken heart	เพียงจะพินาศขาดใจ
Because of his desire.	ที่ในรสราคฤาดี
"Enough! I will go and receive the beautiful One	อย่าเลยจะไปรับนงลักษณ์
As my chief queen	มาเป็นอัคเรศมเหสี
And add her to all the other beautiful woman	เฉลิมฝูงอนงค์นารี
To share my place under the jewelled white umbrella."	ร่วมที่เศวตฉัตรรัตนา  ฯ

174. Having thought this, he called the mistresses of the harem	๑๗๔. คิดแล้วจึ่งเรียกเถ้าแก่
In charge of the woman, right and left.	ชาวแม่ท้าวนางซ้ายขวา
"Go out and order the soldiers.	จงออกไปสั่งเสนา
Tell them I'll go to the garden."	ว่ากูจะไปอุทยาน  ฯ

175. Then	๑๗๕. บัดนั้น
The wise mistress of the harem	ท้าวนางผู้ปรีชาหาญ
Received the orders of the King of the Giants.	รับสั่งสมเด็จพระยามาร
She bent down in obeisance and then went out.	ก้มเกล้ากราบกรานแล้วออกไป   ฯ

176. When she arrived she spoke.	๑๗๖. ครั้นถึงจึ่งกล่าววาจา
She ordered the chief soldier.	สั่งมหาเสนาผู้ใหญ่
"Now the Ruler of the Three Worlds	บัดนี้พระองค์ทรงภพไตร
Wants you to prepare the troops.	ให้เตรียมพหลโยธี
He'll make his royal progress on foot	จะเสด็จโดยการพยุหบาตร
To the royal garden	ออกไปประภาสสวนศรี
In the night.	แต่ใเวลาราตรี
Do this, according to the royal command."	ให้ทันตามมีพระบัญชา  ฯ
	ฯ  ๔  คํา  ฯ   เจรจา
177. Then	๑๗๗. บัดนั้น
Pawanasun the Giant	จึ่งเปาวนาสูรยักษา
Understood what the lady said.	ได้แจ้งแห่งนางอสุรา
So he came out and arranged the devil's troops.	ก็ออกมาจัดพลกุมภัณฑ์  ฯ

178. The first formation was fifty million,	๑๗๘. ต้นเชือกโยธาห้าโกฏิ
With jewelled torches shining.	คบแก้วเรืองโรจน์ฉายฉัน
They waved spears and stood firm.	ถือหอกกลอกกลับยืนยัน
They had on jewelled armor.	ใส่เกราะกุดั่นอลงกรณ์
Next came a forty million formation of giants.	ถัดมาสี่โกฏิอสุรี
They had golden torches shining brightly.	คบทองรูจีประภัสสร
They bore the best of jewelled shields.	สอดใส่เกราะแก้วบวร
In their hands they proudly held lances.	มือกุมโตมรกรีดกราย
Next came a thirty million formation of soldiers.	ถัดมาสามโกฏิพลมาร
Silver torches burned brightly.	คบเงินชัชวาลเฉิดฉาย
They wore shiny sapphire-colored armor.	สอดใส่เกราะนิลพรรณราย
Each one held a golden spear.	ล้วนถือทองปรายทุกตน
In the back was a forty million formation of soldiers.	กระบวนหลังโยธีสี่โกฏิ
They held shining torches helter skelter.	ถือคบช่วงโชติสับสน
The drivers harnessed cars in confusion.	ขุนรถเทียมรถอลวน
They waited, spread out in large numbers, for the King of the Giants to appear.	เกลื่อนกล่นคอยเสด็จอสุรี  ฯ

179. Then	๑๗๙. เมื่อนั้น
The Giant Totsasian of the royal family of the giants	ทศเศียรสุริย์วงศ์ยักษี
Made his royal progress	เสด็จย่างเยื้องจรลี
And entered the bathing place.	ไปเข้าที่สรงสาคร  ฯ

180. He had them open a jewelled pipe	๑๘๐. ให้ไขท่อแก้วโกมิน
Fragrant with the odor of pollen.	หอมหวานด้วยกลิ่นเกสร
He bathed in water with a fragrance that diffused through the air.	ทรงสุคนธารสขจายจร
His trunks and epaulettes were jewelled.	สนับเพลาเชิงงอนอลงการ
Then he put on a lower garment	แล้วทรงภูษาพื้นม่วง
Interwoven with golden designs.	ฉลุดวงเกี้ยวกรองทองประสาน
He put on a jewelled cloth,	ชายไหวประดับพลอยประพาล
A scarf bright with jewels.	ชายแครงชัชวาลด้วยแก้วลาย
He put rings on his fingers.	ฉลององค์ทรงประพาสพระกรน้อย
He put on three necklaces.	สอดสร้อยสังวาลสามสาย
He lay two ruby bands across his chest.	ตาบทิศทับทรวงทับทิมพราย
On his arms were ornaments of gold in the shape of dragons.	ทองกรมังกรกรายพาหุรัด
He had on an ornamented yellow diamond ring.	ธํามรงค์เรือนเก็จเพชรเหลือง
Each finger of his hand was shining.	อร่ามเรืองทุกนิ้วพระหัตถ์
He wore a jewelled crown with flowers tucked in it.	ทรงมงกุฏแก้วดอกไม้ทัด
Earrings shone on his ears.	กุณฑลจํารัสกรรเจียกจอน
A garland of heavenly flowers hung down.	ห้อยพวงสุวรรณบุปผา
In his right hand he grasped an arrow.	พระหัตถ์ขวานั้นจับพระแสงศร
He was beautiful, like Brahma himself.	งามดั่งพรหมเมศฤทธิรอน
He ascended the royal carriage.	บทจรมาขึ้นรถทรง  ฯ
	ฯ  ๑๐  คํา  ฯ   บาทสกุณี
181. The jewelled royal carriage	๑๘๑. รถเอยราชรถแก้ว
Was shiny, bright, and tall.	เลื่อมลายพรายแพรวทรงระหง
The yoke was curved, designed beautifully, and strong.	แอกงอนอ่อนงามยรรยง
The hub of the wheel glittered to the eye.	ดุมวงดูวามอร่ามตา
The driver hurried the chariot along.	ขุนรถขับรีบราชสีห์
They moved out the soldiers, right and left.	คลี่พวกเคลื่อนพลซ้ายขวา
There were emblems of royalty everywhere.	ชุมสายฉายแสงดาษดา
Both front and back were crowded and confused with soldiers.	หน้าหลังแน่นล้อมอลวน
The rays of candles shone clearly.	แสงเทียนส่องทางกระจ่างจับ
The wheels flashed like circles of light in the air.	กงแววแก้ววับโพยมหน
Gongs resounded in unison, making great noise.	เสียงฆ้องซ้องขานอึงอล
Drums and bugles called men to a procession.	กาหลเกณฑ์แห่แตรงอน
Strips of flags fluttered in the air at the end of the formation.	ธงริ้วทิวรายจนปลายเชือก
Lanterns and golden torches shone, abundant and brilliant.	โคมเถือกคบทองส่องสลอน
A pair of soldiers walked in procession, with their hands making a gesture of respect.	คู่ทหารเคียงแห่ประนมกร
They hurried onward.	เร่งจรรีบจัตุรงค์มา  ฯ
	ฯ  ๘  คํา  ฯ   กราวนอก
182. When they arrived they parked at a jewelled platform.	๑๘๒. ครั้นถึงประทับกับเกยแก้ว
He descended from the royal chariot.	แล้วลงจากราชรัถา
Extending his arms gracefully he came walking	ทอดกรดกรีดกรายเสด็จมา
To the pavilion of the Queen.	ยังที่พลับพลานางเทวี  ฯ
	ฯ  ๒  คํา  ฯ   ฉุยฉาย
183. He let himself down on a golden chair	๑๘๓. ลดองค์ลงเหนือบัลลังก์มาศ
As a substitute throne, near her.	ต่างอาสน์ใกล้องค์มารศรี
He smiled while he said,	ยิ้มพลางทางกล่าววาที
"You are the center of my life.	เจ้าพี่ผู้ดวงชีวัน
I feel great affection for you, beautiful lady.	ความแสนพิศวาสนางนงลักษณ์
It almost kills me.	เพียงจัก สิ้นชีพอาสัญ
As for Rama, this husband of yours,	อันพระรามผู้ผัวของเจ้านั้น
He is a poor man wandering in the forest.	ยากจนด้นดั้นอยู่ในไพร
The two brothers are like outcasts.	สองคนพี่น้องดั่งจัณฑาล
They have no valuable  possessions.	สมบัติพัสถานก็หาไม่
He isn't suitable for you, my lady,	ไม่ควรคู่องค์อรไท
To be close in love and affection.	จะสนิทพิสมัยภิรมยา
The day he went after the golden deer	วันนั้นไปตามกวางทอง
Shouts filled the forest.	เสียงร้องอื้ออึงคะนึงป่า
How can he still be alive?	ที่ไหนจะรอดชีวา
The evil deer surely killed him.	กวางร้ายมันจะฆ่าให้บรรลัย
So extinguish your love.	จงระงับดับความอาวรณ์
You shouldn't  be sad and anxious.	จะโศกาเร่าร้อนหาควรไม่
I am inviting y0u, lovely one,	ขอเชิญเจ้าเยาวยอดดวงใจ
To enter the sandalwood palace	เข้าในนิเวศน์วังจันทน์
Decorated with endless procious things,	ประกอบด้วยไอศูรย์สมบัติ
Like a heavenly city,	ดั่งมหาสุทัศน์เมืองสวรรค์
Together with the ladies-in-waiting,	พร้อมหมู่สนมกํานัล
Eighty-four thousand young women.	แปดหมื่นสี่พันนงคราญ
I will keep you as chief queen,	จะเลี้ยงเจ้าเป็นพระมเหสี
Sharing the sparkling white umbrella.	ร่วมที่เศวตฉัตรฉายฉาน
You will be superior to all the maidens.	ใหญ่กว่าอนงค์บริวาร
Young one, have pity on me."	เยาวมาลย์จงได้เมตตา  ฯ
	ฯ  ๑๔  คํา  ฯ
184. Then	๑๘๔. เมื่อนั้น
Lovely Lady Sita	โฉมนางสีดาเสน่หา
Listened to the giant Totsakan,	ฟังทศเศียรอสุรา
And she was angry.	กัลยากลุ้มกลัดขัดใจ
It was as if a harmful arrow had pierced her ear.	ดั่งศรแสลงมาแทงกรรณ
She couldn't suppress her anger.	จะกลั้นความแค้นก็ไม่ได้
She struck a wooden stake in the ground and reviled it.	ปักไม้ลงแล้วก็ด่าไป
"You cursed wood!	อ้ายไม้จัญไรอัปรีย์
Why do you come and insult	ไฉนมึงจึ่งมาดูหมิ่น
The Arrow-bearer, the Summit of the World,	พระทรงศิลปปิ่นภพเรืองศรี
The Lord of the Naga Throne?	คือพระองค์ทรงอาสน์วาสุกรี
The Avatar will come and destroy the giants	ภูมีอวตารมาผลาญยักษ์
To put an end to the race of evil	ให้สิ้นโคตรวงศ์อ้ายพาลา
Who oppress the world and kingdom.	ซึ่งเบียดเบียนโลกาอาณาจักร
Your body is an evil one.	อันตัวของมึงนี้ทรลักษณ์
Its ten heads and ten faces will be cut off.	สิบเศียรสิบพักตร์จะปลิวไป
The day you stole me and brought me here	วันเมื่อไปลักกูมานี้
You survived only because you fled.	หากว่ารีบหนีมาได้
If you were slow you would have been killed	แม้นช้าจะม้วยบรรลัย
By the victorious arrows of the Discus-bearer."	ด้วยแสงศรชัยพระจักรา  ฯ
	ฯ  ๑๐  คํา  ฯ
185. Then	๑๘๕. เมื่อนั้น
Totsasian, of the royal family of the giants,	ทศเศียรสุริย์วงศ์ยักษา
Heard the speech of Lady Sita.	ได้ฟังถ้อยคํานางสีดา
She made nasty comparisons with the wood, and swore she didn't care about him.	เปรียบปรายด่าว่าไม่อาลัย
Her voice only increased his desire.	ยิ่งแสนพิศวาสในนํ้าเสียง
Her voice was beautiful beyond comparison.	เพราะเพรียงไม่มีที่เปรียบได้
The more he listened the more absorbed he became	ยิ่งฟังยิ่งเพลินจําเริญใจ
In her body and in the beauty of her words.	ที่ในรูปรสวาที
He bowed down and said eloquently,	กราบลงแล้วกล่าวสุนทร
"Beautiful lady whom I love	เจ้างามงอนจําเริญสวาทพี่
Throughout the Three Worlds,	ทั่วทั้งสามภพธาตรี
There is no one whose features compares with yours.	ไม่มีใครเปรียบนงลักษณ์
Even if you curse me	ถึงมาตรเจ้าจะด่าว่า
I don't take your words seriously.	พี่ยาไม่ถือคําหนัก
I have mercy for you through my love.	แต่ปรานีในทางรสรัก
Do not destroy my love and affection.	อย่าหักเสน่หาอาลัย
You are like a heavenly gem.	เจ้าดั่งดวงมณฑาทิพ
Throughout the sixteen levels of heaven there is no one who can I compare with you.	สิบหกช่องฟ้าไม่หาได้
I love you like my own heart.	รักนางพ่างเพียงดวงใจ
I will cherish you against evil.	จะถนอมมิให้ราคี
Woman, don't reject my love.	แม่อย่าสลัดตัดสวาท
Little one, save my life.	นุชนาฏช่วยชูชีวิตพี่
Queen, have mercy.	เมตตาบ้างเถิดนางเทวี
Be my well-being forever."	ให้เป็นศรีสวัสดิ์สถาวร  ฯ

186. Then	๑๘๖. เมื่อนั้น
Beautiful Lady Sita	นวลนางสีดาดวงสมร
Was annoyed by the words of the twenty-handed king.	เจ็บชํ้าคําท้าวยี่สิบกร
She turned her face from him and looked away.	บังอรผินพักตร์ไม่แลมา
She spit	แล้วถ่มเขฬะลงไป
And said, "Oh, you wooden devil,	ว่าเหวยอ้ายไม้มารษา
Don't dare talk.	ตัวมึงอย่าพักเจรจา
You beg and use false words.	ไหว้วอนแต่งว่าพาที
I am the mother of the race of God	กูคือมารดาสุรารักษ์
Of the Three Worlds.	ไตรจักรประณตบทศรี
I am not a prostitute.	มิใช่หญิงร้ายอัปปรีย์
Who could be happy with a low person?	จะยินดีด้วยอ้ายสาธารณ์
If I have to die I will uphold my honor	มาตรแม้นถึงตายจะไว้ยศ
To appear in all directions.	ให้ปรากฏไปทั่วทิศานต์
Do not underrate the Avatar.	มึงอย่าดูหมิ่นพระอวตาร
Before long, you will die."	ไม่นานจะม้วยชีวี  ฯ
	ฯ  ๘  คํา  ฯ   เจรจา
187. Then	๑๘๗. บัดนั้น
Skillful Hanuman	หนุมานผู้ชาญชัยศรี
Hid behind a tree and looked at the giant.	แฝงไม้ลอบดูอสุรี
He was furious.	มีความกริ้วโกรธโกรธา
His eyes were red, like rays of the Cataclysmic Fire.	ตาแดงดั่งแสงไฟกัลป์
His hands itched with a desire to kill.	มือคันจะใคร่เข่นฆ่า
But he feared to exceed the orders	หากเกรงจะเกินบัญชา
Of the Four-handed Discus-bearer.	องค์พระจักราสี่กร
But he listened to the giant's words	แต่ฟังถ้อยคําอสุรี
With the beloved woman	กับพระลักษมีดวงสมร
And he knew that the woman	ก็แจ้งว่าองค์บังอร
Had no love for the devil.	ไม่อาวรณ์รักใคร่กุมภัณฑ์  ฯ
	ฯ  ๖  คํา  ฯ
188. Then	๑๘๘. เมื่อนั้น
Totsasian, of the royal clan,	ทศเศียรสุริย์วงศ์รังสรรค์์
Saw beautiful Lady Sita	เห็นนางสีดาวิลาวัณย์
Turn away and curse, with no good will for him.	ผินผันด่าว่าไม่ใยดี
Totsakan was at his wit's end.	สุดรู้สุดคิดสุดปัญญา
He didn't know what to say.	สุดวอนสุดว่ามารศรี
He was at a loss, so he said,	จนใจแล้วกล่าววาที
"You remain here.	เจ้าพี่ค่อยอยู่สถาวร
I beg to take my leave, lovely lady.	ขอลาโฉมเฉลาเยาวเรศ
For now, I will go back to the palace."	คืนเข้านิเวศน์วังก่อน
Saying this, he looked at the woman's face.	ว่าพลางพิศพักตร์บังอร
He sighed and left.	ทอดถอนฤาทัยแล้วเดินมา  ฯ
	ฯ  ๖  คํา  ฯ   เสมอ

189. He saw the giant in attendance.	๑๘๙. เห็นนางอสุรีที่อยู่เฝ้า
He stamped his feet and cried out like thunderclaps.	กระทืบเท้าแผดเสียงดั่งฟ้าผ่า
"Damn you, giantesses.	เหวยเหวยพวกอี่อสุรา
I told you to take care of the Queen.	กูให้รักษานางเทวี
Why didn't you beg her	เป็นไฉนมึงไม่ว่าวอน
To be indulgent in happiness?	ให้โอนอ่อนในความเกษมศรี
Next time, if it is like this	ที่หลังถ้าเป็นดั่งนี้
I will kill you."	กูจะผลาญชีวีให้วายปราณ
Saying this, he got into his royal chariot	ว่าพลางเสด็จขึ้นรถทรง
Accompanied by his soldiers.	พร้อมด้วยจัตุรงค์ทวยหาญ
He left the jewelled garden.	ออกจากสวนแก้วอุทยาน
He went back to the royal seat of the giants.	คืนเข้าราชฐานกุมภัณฑ์  ฯ
